LCD technology is constantly compete with plasma technology to achieve the best image quality. When it opens on an ad and touch the TV section, you will see the term “LED” followed by “LCD”, because the technology has been created exclusively for LCD televisions. Now, before we can discuss what led exactly, we must find out what LCD typically used to create a picture. All depend on a backlight, in one way, shape or form to light the LCD panel itself. Most of them are based on a fluorescent back light, also known as CCFL. However, many manufacturers are beginning to use LED technology instead. What led not only brings to the table that it uses less energy, but the fact that it offers deep, rich black levels that rival (or even exceed) those of top plasma TVs. The price reflects the level of performance, which is higher than normal LCD TV.
To clarify some issues that are more frequently by consumers when it comes to LED backlighting, televisions today use one of two major versions. The first is called “local dimming”. What this basically does is allows the backlight to dim or off in different areas of the screen. Do not forget that the black levels are the most important factor in the quality of HDTV images. The second version is called “edge lit”. The name derives from the provision of LEDs along the edge of the screen that allows for extremely thin. In recent tests, the technology running the board outside the local mitigation enlightened in terms of performance and image quality.
